Tanya was a child of an alcoholic who was determined not to drink. She did not start drinking until she was 29 years old when life just started happening. She started off as a binge drinker. After marrying and becoming a full time stay at home mommy, she ended up beginning as she describes “a lonely stay-at-home mommy that lost her way.” She started drinking daily and found Xanax and Vicodin to be her best friends. On August 11, 2020, she checked herself back into rehab on her terms and not that of others for the second time. The meaningful life that she found after leaving the PaRC, and working the AA Program she would not exchange her new life for anything in the world. She thinks it truly amazing, and she sees the promises coming true every day. She also believes/loves the saying from the AA Big Book, “we will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it”, her past has made her the person she is today - one she likes, loves and respects herself which she has never been able to do before - until she worked the Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.
